As Regional Director of Sales and Marketing with Lodgestar Investments Ltd., Amber Birkeland draws on close to a twenty years of experience in the hospitality industry. She began her career in 1998 as a Front Desk Agent with Blackstone Investments, where she advanced quickly to ultimately becoming the Hotel Manager in 2003 of the 109-room suite hotel. Amber Birkeland moved on from this role in 2006 to become Cluster Director of Sales for White Lodging Services at the Residence Inn & Courtyard by Marriott Denver/Southwest Lakewood Colorado, where she drove platinum-level results in house profit, market share, and guest satisfaction survey (GSS) responses.
Continuing to drive success for White Lodging Services, Amber Birkeland became Director of Sales for Hilton Garden Inn by Hilton St. George Utah, and in 2009 Opening Director of Sales and Marketing for Courtyard by Marriott Fort Wayne Downtown at the Grand Wayne Convention Center. She secured and exceed RAMP targets as well as a budgeted STAR ranking six months after Courtyard's opening. Additionally, went on to secure a balanced score card of 130 percent of sales target and 236 percent house profit.
Similarly successful in her next role as General Manager of RIM Hospitality's Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Elk Grove California, Amber Birkeland increased the hotel's market share by 126 percent within 90 days. She was quickly noticed and moved on the following year to become Director of Sales and Marketing for Westmont Hospitality Group's Doubletree by Hilton Modesto, which she drove to top-performing hotel status in 2013 and Most Improved RevPAR Index and Index Growth for 2014. Mrs. Birkeland left Westmont in the summer of 2016 and has since focused full-time on promoting Lodgestar's growth in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex area.
